Snow, Oil's and Aria's Secrets

Friday, February 6, 2015
We've reached that point in winter where the ground will be covered in snow from here on out.

Aria doesn't love the snow just yet. She isn't quite old enough to really enjoy playing in it. That may have something to do with the fact that when we bundle her up to go out, she closely resembles the kid from "A Christmas Story".

Harper however, would play in the snow every day for the rest of her life.

This is also the point in winter where I start to get a little stir crazy. Once the ground is covered in ice and snow, outdoor runs are few and far between. I'm not very light on my feet as it is, so running on a slippery surface is a disaster waiting to happen.

I absolutely loathe running indoors. But sometimes you just have to suck it up and do it anyway.

I've actually been doing a lot of work on an exercise ball lately. I call it a birth ball, because that's what I use it for in my line of work and in the classes I teach…but I've noticed that when I go around talking about "birth balls" I get some really weird looks.

I'm am loving using our essential oils!

I've already run out of two of them, because I use them so often!

Lavender has about 1,000 different uses... but lately our skin has needed some attention. I combine it with coconut oil and slather it on our skin, to combat dry winter dryness! It has healing properties as well, so I use it on cuts and scrapes as well as pimples. My skin has been going crazy lately! After I wash my face at night, I dab some lavender on budding pimples, and I swear they disappear by morning.

Because of it's relaxation properties, I also mix it with Peace and Calming in Aria's diffuser at night…and it helps her sleep extremely well!

Lemon is the other oil that I've already run out of. It smells magnificently clean! I use it on stains (even grease stains) and it get's them ALL out! Boston peed on our bright white rug and it completely removed the urine stain.

I am also a placenta encapsulator and when I am sterilizing my equipment after an encapsulation, I use it to get everything as clean as possible!

In the morning's I put a few drops in my water as well!

I'm off to get some sleep. Big workout in the morning.

Enjoy your night friends!

I leave you with this picture of Aria telling Harper secrets…
