We're All Killin' It

Monday, March 30, 2015
It has been a little while since we posted. I've had so many things to write about, but every time I sit down, I don't write, I just read.

I read a lot of articles online…parenting articles, other mom's experiences, family articles, birth articles, blogs, basically anything that may have a hint of one of the hundred and fifty hats that we wear a day, as parents, in it.

In these articles I've noticed one comonality…the comments people leave to each other are often incredibly judgmental and down right mean.

One of the beautiful things about being human is that we are all so different and we can learn from each other. Just because someone does something differently than me, doesn't mean they are wrong, it just means they aren't me.

Part of the human condition is the need for community. To be around others who have experienced or are experiencing similar things to what we are experiencing. When I seek out these articles to read, it is because I want to know what other parents doing, how they're feeling, and how we are different.
Not to judge. I have no right to judge anyone else.

Perhaps I live in a non-existient world where everyone can be who they are and respect each others decisions.

I don't know. But I do know that the decisions I make for my family are the ones that are right for me…not necessarily for anyone else.

Being a parent is hard enough without being judged for doing our best, when it isn't what you would do.

I don't care if you breastfeed, bottle feed, disposable diaper, cloth diaper, stay home, work 2 jobs, send your kids to private school, send your kids to public schools, worship a God, worship the earth, wear a unicorn horn on Tuesdays, whatever.

If you love your children, and you're giving it your all (even if you are no where near getting it all done…because lets face it…who is?)…I think you're killin' it.

Keep doing your thing girlfriend! Or boyfriend!
