What I Ate Wednesday...and more

Have you ever seen the episode of How I Met Your Mother, where Marshall sleeps in a night gown?
Well, after years and years of resisting even the idea of wearing anything as non functional as a night gown...I find myself right in the thick of night gown heaven.

I'm such a practical person. I always sleep in shorts or sweats, a sports bra and a tank or other not too lose shirt.
The reason being...incase I ever have to wake up quickly and be fully functional to handle any situation, while ensuring my attire is not an issue.

You may be thinking... What in the world could she have to wake up to do so hastily in the middle of the night?

I don't know. But whatever it is...I will be ready.

I think this habit goes back to my days in the Coast Guard where we were often woken up in the middle of the night and had to be ready for anything. Literally, anything.

Well, the other day I went to the Motherhood store to do some shopping...solo! Can you believe it!

I was drawn to these simple, pretty, shorter, pregnancy and nursing night gowns and robes. They were just so beautifully simple and looked unbelievable comfortable. For a minute I had a daydream of a cool fall morning, in my night gown and robe, wearing chunky, knit boot socks, curled up in a chair, sipping coffee on our back patio.

I bought two night gowns and a robe.

I'm in heaven. They are so comfortable! I swear it has even positively affected my sleep. Between the Snoogle and this new bed attire...I may be getting the best sleep of this pregnancy.

Don't worry...I still have my Ergo and a butcher knife tucked under my bed just incase we ever have to stab our way out and make a speedy get away. I've run in a dress before. A night gown can't be that different.

Today's workout is a combo of some cardio and some more cardio, disguised as a strength workout.

I have a thing for doing a handful of strength exercises, in rounds, quickly. For one, I don't have a ton of time and it's a time saver. For two, going from exercise to exercise is great for endurance.
I do take a short rest between rounds, when needed.

On to the food...

Simple breakfast this morning...meaning, we were running late. Sourdough toast, tahini, arugula and chia seeds.

Sunwarrior Vanilla Protein Shake with almond milk.

My MIL owns a deli, and Aria and I like to stop in for lunch after her MyGym class.

Wheat wrap, spinach, mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, pickles, red peppers, jalapeno's, mayo (this weeks pregnancy craving) and american cheese.

Live Kombucha Soda! So delicious. the Pomtastic Blueberry is my favorite!

Cranberry Almond KIND Bar and a banana.

This dinner was ah-mazing. Grilled tempe with TJ's Sweet Chili sauce and roasted carrots...which I proceeded to eat about 4 servings of. Recipe coming soon.
